Pictures in children&#39;s books also have an educational aspect. One of those trainings is to familiarize children with creating space for urban landscapes.</span></span></span> <span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">The aim of the research is the functionality of the urban landscape in visualization and its relationship with the perception and mental development of the child using the descriptive-analytical method and based on written sources. Therefore, the characteristics of urban landscapes in the children&#39;s book are analyzed by mentioning examples of images from famous Iranian illustrators.</span></span></span> <span lang="EN" style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">The essential information of the research is collected in the form of library and documents, and the content analysis method is used to explain the role of urban landscapes in the mental development of the research child.
