Abstract
Today, pocket parks as part of public green space can improve the physical and mental health of people and restore mental fatigue in people; Despite what visual features of pocket urban parks can increase people's perception of percieved restoration, it is still unknown and few studies have done it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between visual features of pocket parks and restoration of citizens' mental fatigue. According to the research topic, field of study and its issues, a combination of documentary-analytical and survey methods has been used. The method of data collection was library and field research and the tool used to collect the necessary information is a questionnaire. Based on Cochran's formula, the sample size was 384. Spatial scope of the study eight small urban parks from district one of Tehran were selected from twenty-two districts to collect preliminary data. The results of the analysis showed that the characteristics of pocket parks affect the perception of restorative and the components of mystery, coherence, legibility, visual access, greenness and complexity are significantly related to the perception of restorative of mental fatigue and the component of openness at a higher level. It is located in the other components. The results of this study contribute to the ideas of urban designers and landscape architects for better planning and design of parks based on the characteristics of visual preferences effective in reducing mental fatigue.
