Social stratifications create complex differences among sections of society that we, in Pierre Bourdieu, call "differentiation." As a result of these distinctions, different facades are designed in residential buildings that affect the appearance of the city. The diversity of styles in the design of residential facades by citizens has caused heterogeneity in the urban landscape and has created a kind of lack of integration and coherence in concepts related to architecture in the field of urban facades. This study explains the understanding of architects in the face of citizens’ styles in designing the facades of residential buildings based on Bourdieuchr’s theory of differentiation. The research method of this research is applied in terms of purpose, quality and in terms of "intention" of the research, "interpretive" and tries to answer the questions that "what factors shape the styles of employers and consumers in production and Symbolic consumption of housing in Tehran in the period 1384-1388 have been effective? And what was the understanding of architects in the face of consumer and employer styles in designing residential facades during the period 1384-1388? In explaining the research variables, cultural capital and economic capital of individuals, the independent variable and the architectures’ consumption pattern are defined as dependent variables. In this study, using interviews with experts, indicators and variables affecting the explanation of the role of architects in dealing with the styles of Tehran citizens about residential architecture were extracted from the text of interviews, so the "logic" of the research is "inductive" and analysis method. The data also includes open coding and axial coding. This study shows that the views of most Iranian architects on the concept of "citizens’ styles about residential buildings" can be divided into four forms: "building structure", "climate adaptation", "facade adaptation to building function" and " Visual Beauty "categorized that this consumption pattern is influenced by two general categories," economic capital "and" cultural capital ".
