The Assessment of Urban Residential Environment with Satisfaction Approach Based on Experimental Point of View (Case Study: Urmia). Haft Hesar J Environ Stud 2018; 6 (24) :93-105

In recent years, Occurrence of different crises in environmental , social,economic and anatomical dimensions etc. that is due to lack of appropriare planning in local level,has caused a decrease in quality of quarters,regions and urban areas. Using principles of sustainable residence, in process of urban planning and utilization of residential capacity, It is possible to enhance the quality of environment. The first step towards achieving this goal is to assess the sustainability of urban settlements at local and regional levels. 

In this research, the aim is to assess the quality of urban environment in urban areas of Urmia. Considering satisfaction approach, this goal has formed considering satisfaction approach based on experimental viewpoint. In order to achieve the mentioned goals, while studying the history and literature of this research, the dimensions and terms of the quality of urban residence environment have been selected. Then, according to the number of households (223402), with Cochran formula with 5% error, the sample size of 383 people was estimated and proportional to the number of households, questionnaires were distributed in the district. For descriptive and inferential analysis, the information of the questionnaires from statistical tests (T single sample, Kruskal Wallis and charts) were used in SPSS. The results of the study revealed that the environmental dimension as a negative index with an average of 2.87% is inappropriate.The socio-cultural dimension with about 2.28,is almost in a good condition. The amount of economic dimension is 68.2, physical dimension is 59.2 and management dimension is 51/2, which shows low satisfaction of citizens from residential quality.  According to the Kruskal Wallis method, district 4 ranked the first, district 3 ranked the second , district 1 ranked the third ,district 2 ranked the forth and district 5 ranked the fifth in terms of satisfaction of the quality of urban residence. Finally, in order to solve the problems and increase the satisfaction and welfare of citizens, the five dimensions are ranked according to the obtained score.
It should be noted that according to the experimental viewpoint, the results of the present study are consistent with previous studies.
